Working for the community

Despite a major loss of their president, and tough economic times, WICAC answered the call. Hundreds of volunteers coordinated five (5) major events throughout the year in helping making a difference to those less fortunate.

Cheque for NOVA

On January 7th, 2011, WICAC volunteers Andrew Phillips, Bob Souch, and Jim Morrison presented a check for $20,000 to NOVA Executive Director, Marie-France Juneau, and coordinator, Carol Jonas.

These funds will be primarily used in helping Carousel, a bereavement program for children between the ages of 4-16 years of age.

A generous donation!

One of WICAC's dear friends, Mr. Steven Arless, last December donated $1400 to our cause.  Steve raised this amount last summer on a sponsored bicycle trek across the Canadian  Rockies.  Over a period of two weeks, Steve braved wind, mountains, and even snow to cycle the northern route from Vancouver to Calgary.

We are profoundly grateful to Steve and wish him all the best in his future challenges!
